The 2021 KMOM Event was a success! The Wichita event was held over the weekend on Friday, July 23rd through Saturday, July 24th. At the event, we were able to treat 599 patients and donated over $750,000 worth of dental care.

Although we did not have the same size program as previous years, we are glad to say we were able to treat everyone. We had a smaller clinic with 45 chairs and no hygiene department due to the aerosols from their handpieces.

Over all, we had 452 volunteers of dentists, dental assistants, translators, craft services and other general volunteers that helped make this event the success that it was. One returning volunteer had even been a patient in the previous years!

We did not have special protocols that were required, but we did opt to take temperatures of all volunteers and patients and had a screening questionnaire for them to complete before entry. We also required everyone to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination. We placed dental chairs 10 feet apart, practiced social distancing, and our evening volunteer meals were outside with food trucks.
