9:00 a.m. -
KMOM Garden City 2008 is
complete. Thank you to everyone who supported our
efforts to provide dental care in Garden City. As a
result of your commitment to our foundation and our mission
of providing dental access in Kansas, 1776 patients were
treated at a value of $830,699. The Kansas Dental
Charitable Foundation could not begin to provide the care we
do, if not for the support of each and every volunteer who
gave their time, talents and energies to this program.
Watch for more in the upcoming week.
April 19, 2008
4:28 p.m. - Teardown has begun. Watch us on
KMOM TV
2:18 p.m. - The video of the Jayhawks is
online.
1:33 p.m. - A nice surprise, the National Champion Kansas
Jayhawks just made an appearance at the KMIOM Clinic.
Video is upcoming.
11:36 a.m. - The latest numbers from 10:00 are a total of
1107 patients seen at $593,205. Yesterday, 896
patients were treated at $473,200 in donated dental care.
7:28 a.m. - A new video is going up right now. It'll
be posted at
KMOM TV once it's processed. We'll also have our
live feed back up soon.
6:04 a.m. - The patients are going through triage right now
and will be arriving on the floor in the next 30 minutes or
so. I shot some video this morning and I'll try and
have it up in the next hour.
5:08 a.m. - Techs are here and getting things going for the
morning. A few of the dentists are beginning to arrive
and the clinic will begin to move here pretty quickly.
The Garden City Telegram ran a story yesterday (read)
and also shot some video.
4:46 a.m. - The doors to let patients into the registration
building have been opened.
3:26 a.m. - We recorded the live video feed yesterday and
you can view those videos by visiting our show site at
ustream.tv.

6:04 p.m. - Thanks to Kelly King, who was able to upload
some photos, the first KMOM pictures are
online.
5:31 p.m. - As of 4:00 p.m. today, a total of 709 patients
had been treated at a dollar value of $419,215 in free
dental care. There are still patients in the chairs
and we'll report a final number once we wrap up for the day.
4:54 p.m. - The doors to the clinic will open at 4:00 a.m.
tomorrow morning. Patients will not be able to enter
the Pavilion as they were this morning. Also, it is
important for volunteers to arrive at the time they were
scheduled.
3:35 p.m. - As you can probably tell from the live feed, the
clinic is starting to wind down. Soon, the organizers
will sit down and evaluate the "numbers" of the day and make
adjustments for tomorrow. Once those changes are made,
we'll report those so you are aware of them.
2:41 p.m. - Oral surgery is slowing down and is almost
finished for the day. The general consensus is the
number of patients is far less than what we are accustomed
to doing. Last night, the patients were allowed to
sleep in the pavilion building, but from what we have been
told, the patients will not be permitted inside tonight.
12:36 p.m. - The afternoon shift is arriving and many of the
volunteers are taking a lunch break. Thank you
to those who provided the lunch and served it. The
online server for photos is blocked, so I may not be able to
get any photos up until I get back to the hotel this
evening.
11:18 a.m. - I am working on photos right now and hopefully
I can get a few online shortly. As of 11:00, 270
patients had been treated at a value of $207,000.
10:15 a.m. - A lot has transpired in the past half an hour.
The video feed is back online and we have uploaded som video
to CNN as an ireport. If accepted, I'll post the link
here. I am off to look for numbers of patients seen so
far this morning and I will post those here next.
9:30 a.m. - A Firewall problem at the 3I Building has
prevented us from accessing our usual blog site. We will
start uploading information and updates here. Sorry
about the issue and hopefully we can get this issue solved
before tomorrow.
